How long does chloroquine itching last

I have been getting these horrible rashes and they are not related to sun exposure. I am starting to wonder if they are related to Plaquenil.

What can you take instead of plaquenil Hydroxychloroquine blood tests

If you are taking chloroquine phosphate for a long period of time, your doctor will recommend frequent eye exams. It is very important that you keep these appointments. Chloroquine phosphate can cause serious vision problems. If you experience any changes in vision, stop taking chloroquine phosphate and call your doctor immediately. Jock itch is contagious for as long as you have infected spores from the fungus living on your skin. These spores can even live on surfaces like bedding and towels for over a year if they aren’t. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. If you are taking hydroxychloroquine for symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, your symptoms should improve within 6 months. If your rheumatoid arthritis symptoms do not improve, or if they worsen, stop taking the drug and call your doctor.

I've always been one to go for the natural route and am starting to feel like I should just stop taking everything and see what happens - so frustrating. My doctor now wants me to start on Chloroquine instead of plaquenil.

  3. Chloroquine enters the red blood cell, inhibiting the parasite cell and digestive vacuole by simple diffusion. Chloroquine then becomes protonated to CQ2+, as the digestive vacuole is known to be acidic pH 4.7; chloroquine then cannot leave by diffusion.

I hope the itching has stopped by now. Hydroxychloroquine has an extremely long half life of around 32 days. This means that every 32 days, half of the previous amount of hydroxychloroquine in the body disappears. It takes around 5.5 half lives for a drug to be completely eliminated from your body meaning that you may need to wait for around. Aralen chloroquine is an antimalarial drug used for the treatment of malaria and extraintestinal amebiasis. Common side effects are reduced hearing, tinnitus, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Dosage, drug interactions, and pregnancy and breastfeeding safety are provided. I didn't get a rash from Plaq but I did itch like mad for a while. I know this is very frustrating but don't give up and I certainly don't stop taking your meds without talking to your doctor. It sometimes takes a while to find the right combo of meds but I do hope the Chloroquine will work better for you. Take care and keep us updated.
